Highlight-to-One-Place / Facts Gathering
Highlight and clip facts from anywhere into a single organized place for learning and reference.
One place for everything worth keeping, whatever it was read in. Highlight in a browser, a PDF or a video transcript and it lands in the same library, with its source attached, organised by subject rather than by where it came from.
What a v1 does5 features
- Capture from the browser, PDFs and video transcripts
- The source, the date and the surrounding context kept with every clip
- Automatic grouping by subject across sources
- Search across everything ever highlighted
- Resurfacing, so a clip saved in March is seen again in June
The market
Not for lack of users. Mozilla closed it to concentrate resources on Firefox, and closed Fakespot in the same announcement. Premium subscribers were refunded. The product still had paying customers when it was withdrawn.
Readwise, the paid independent competitor, is bootstrapped, has been profitable since 2017 and absorbed much of the displaced user base. The free product owned by a browser company was withdrawn. The subscription product was not.
The category leader has exited and the position is still open fourteen months later. This is costed at $6 a month, below Readwise, for an audience that reads and takes notes as a matter of habit.

Why this audience
This audience follows sources - the content's own citation habit has trained them to. They clip and screenshot and lose it. Keeping every highlight with its source attached is the version of collecting that people who care about provenance will use.
Before it can launch
No licence, certification or data agreement stands between this and a launch — app-store review and an ordinary privacy policy aside.
What it earns
Drag me Every figure recalculates as you go.
0.0039% of 25.5M followers · capped at 50,000
Opens on the price this idea was costed at, $6.
1,000 paying — 0.0039% of 25.5M followers — × $6 a month = $6,000 a month
Fifty thousand paying users is the ceiling every one of these pages is drawn against, not a forecast. It opens at a thousand, the bottom of the range, so the first figures you see are the modest ones. What the cap buys is comparability: the same range on every app, and the percentage of the audience it takes as the number that moves.
Is this the one for your audience?
We fund it, build it, and run it. You bring the audience and take a share of the revenue. Nothing to pay and nothing to build.
